Entirely Redesigned Key Layout

One of the most notable and valuable changes with the Custom EX Alto is that its entire layout has been reinvented to allow you, the player, more freedom and ease of movement. The Front F key has been redesigned both in its shape and the way the mechanism functions. Position changes have been made with the Left-hand palm keys, left-hand table keys, right-hand side keys, and right-hand pinky have all also been reimagined and ergonomically improved. All of these changes have been made by the input of the world's greats on the instrument. Re-built Bell For Ease Of Play in the Bottom Register

Do you like the contrast of deep and bellowy low notes that flow through the air like a bolt of silk? Yamaha experimented with alternative designs for producing the lower register on the saxophone when they began development of the Custom EX Alto. From their comprehensive research they landed on this improved design. The toneholes of the low C and low D have been decreased in width but they have kept their trademark annealing process in the design for lower register ease of play. This has improved the balance of resistance from top end all the way through bottom end, essentially making the instruments entire range more uniform.
